July 18th, 2008 — at work, ramblings
Ok, in case you missed my previous post, I get to go to VA/DC for a long weekend trip for work and some play. The stuff below is some live notes I took on my Centro along the way, with some typos and such corrected of course.
Now, this is my first time in the airport since mid-2001, and first time dealing with the new security and all. We parked at Humphrey terminal, walked a looong way to get to where we catch the light rail, then another tram to the terminal.
Check in went ducky. No line or anything. Dropped the luggage off at the scanner. Dad went to get one last smoke in and we head to the checkpoint and the line was so-so. But then we got lucky and they seemed to open another line.

April 11th, 2008 — ramblings
Last week I posted about the weather around here, referencing as an April Fool’s type joke. And sure, as hearty “Minne-snow-tans”, we take the weather in stride. Sometimes the jokes are really funny, sometimes they have unintended consequences and sometimes they’re just wrong.
Well around here, it is feeling like we’re getting hit with the joke that just won’t go away. After hitting the 60’s over the weekend, we’re not getting out of the 40s, and last night there was snow, lighting, and thunder. All rolled in to one.

This was my front yard this morning. Whee.
With our luck, next week it will be in the 80s, humid, and we’ll be swarming with mosquitoes.

Ok, tomorrow is April 1, right?
I had no snow in my back yard when I left for work this morning… and it is still coming down, three hours later.

This next one I just thought looked cool… it’s the rear fender of my Jeep after I got home.

Just one year ago, well… and a week or so… we got hit with a heck of a storm. As things warmed and melted and refroze, I awoke Sunday morning to this…

Yesterday was Groundhog’s Day. Here in MN, it was overcast… so I am hopeful we get an early spring, but even if we do - that doesn’t mean we can’t still get hit hard. This picture is from on my way home from work, just 11 months ago on March 1, 2007.

We ended up with 6 or more inches that day I think. And we had another March storm that dumped about the same later in the month.
I’ll take an early spring this year please… I want to get the hard top off the Jeep ASAP!
