My webOS Wish List

I have had my Palm Pre a few months now and find more things to do with it all the time – like right now I’m starting this draft in Evernote while waiting for a client to show up.

With all it can do, it’s a new platform, and they can’t have it all right out of the box. Below is a few things that are on my personal wish list.

The Palm Pre – So Far, Really Good

palm-preEver since they announced the Palm Pre smartphone early this year, I’ve been wanting one. Yea, I’m a geek, and I am a Palm geek. I’ve gone through a Handspring Visor, Treo 90, Zire71, LifeDrive, then the Centro phone for the last couple years.

Then bout the end of July, I was out at the mall and wandered in to the Sprint store. Availability of the Pre since it came out in June has been hit or miss, and today I got a hit. So a short while later I was walking out the door with my new Pre in hand. I ended up sitting on a bench outside the store playing with it for a good half an hour before I finished up my shopping to head for home.

I’m not going to bore you with details about what comes with the thing, or technical specs. You want that info, there’s plenty of places to get it. But I do want to hit on a few things from my overall experience from the couple months, and as the weeks go by I’ll try to hit on some more specific things here and there.

Palm Pre Wallpapers – Volume 2

Here’s my latest batch of Palm Pre Wallpapers made from photos I’ve taken… These are from my trip to Washing DC last year.

Palm Pre Wallpapers – Volume 1

Ok, I decided to take some of my favorite pictures and make some wallpapers for my new Pre.

Some of the stuff, I don’t know the origin of the images so I can’t share, but here’s some stuff from photos I’ve taken.

I finally gots myself a Pre

Palm PreYup, I finally found one in the stores last week. And so far it’s been a wonderful thing.

Aside from the usual issues with the battery that everyone else talks about, and a minor bluetooth glitch, I’ve been nothing but pleased with this thing.

Yea, there are some things that are going to take getting used to. the webOS and Synergy are new concepts that are going to take some adjustments in how I do things.

I already do a lot of my stuff in “the cloud”, so hopefully the learning curve won’t be too much of an issue, but as a phone, it’s all new.

I’m working on a more detailed posting, and it’s actually probably going to spawn a number of posts (those tired of me writing about nothing but WLS will get a nice break I suppose).

The first one is going to be fairly long, so I thought I’d pop this note up to let folks know what’s kept me from posting anything this last week (basically having fun playing with a new toy, heh).

So, as they say… “Stay tuned, there’s more to come!”
