Hard to believe anyone could improve on the original, but here the Muppets pull it off.

October 18th, 2009 — geek effect, ramblings
Ever since they announced the Palm Pre smartphone early this year, I’ve been wanting one. Yea, I’m a geek, and I am a Palm geek. I’ve gone through a Handspring Visor, Treo 90, Zire71, LifeDrive, then the Centro phone for the last couple years.
Then bout the end of July, I was out at the mall and wandered in to the Sprint store. Availability of the Pre since it came out in June has been hit or miss, and today I got a hit. So a short while later I was walking out the door with my new Pre in hand. I ended up sitting on a bench outside the store playing with it for a good half an hour before I finished up my shopping to head for home.
I’m not going to bore you with details about what comes with the thing, or technical specs. You want that info, there’s plenty of places to get it. But I do want to hit on a few things from my overall experience from the couple months, and as the weeks go by I’ll try to hit on some more specific things here and there.

I was browsing through clips on Hulu tonight, came across some of the stuff from America’s Got Talent, and saw a couple clips for Nuttin’ But Stringz. NBS is a couple brothers from NY that have been playing since before they were 10. They went to Juliard, played on the subways where they were discovered, and have even played at the White House.
But my first impression was…. ::blink. blink. blink.:: Hip-hop violinists?

I am far from musically inclined – though I can play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the tin whistle. The 10-year old in this video puts me, and most other adults I know to shame. In this age of Guitar Hero and Rock Band, this kid blows them all away.
I found this over on onmansblog.com – where he also has a clip of Kansas playing the same tune, and if she wasn’t bad enough, he’s got a post with videos of Top 10 Kids Who Prove We’re All Pathetic. He needs to update that list after finding this one.
