Had a pre-bday lunch with mom, dad and sister. She brought the kidlets as a bit of surprise. Of course they had to play in the Jeep for a bit. Was a nice lunch at The Good Earth, but while it was good… the bean burrito should really be called the brown rice burrito. Heavy on the rice, short on the beans.

Granny is 92 today. She’s pretty much blind, so she’s not quite looking at me when I took the picture, and her teeth are out so she didn’t smile… oh well. I missed the main part of her lil party, but got to spend some time with her after she lay down for a rest. She recognized everyone, and didn’t call me Johnny once, so she was having a pretty good day.

Between being sick, then out of town I haven’t been able to visit with Granny for awhile. I stopped to see her today. Her dementia is getting much worse, but today seemed to be a pretty good day. She remembered me pretty well… and only called me “John” a few times. Mostly just sat there, her hand resting on mine as we talked a bit as she sort of drifted in and out of a light sleep. All and in all, a very nice visit.
