Ok, I suppose it is time for me to put something here.
I am a geek. At least according to my girlfriend. I have been in to computers since 8th grade and my first access to the Commodore PET (that means since about 1981) and I still am in front of a computer for 12 or more hours a day during the week. (Sometimes more, sometimes less on my days off.) Currently it involves things like web-design, managing an online community site, surfing the web, and sometimes just watching TV via my computer.
But I have a LOT of other interests as well. Cooking, different crafts, paintball, history, reading, photography and a few other things here and there. Somehow I find a way to use my computer related to all of them, from looking up information to sharing it with others.
My first domain was mnscraps.com and was meant to be my online scrapbook - a place to make note of the stuff I do. I decided I didn’t like that domain and in a stroke of genius/stupidity, I came up with ‘upmykilt’. Hey, blame my Scottish grandmother - after all it’s her fault I don’t drink coffee.
This site has gone through soooooo many variations over the years as I try to figure out what’s the best way for me to put out there what it is I want to share. Currently it’s set up as a blog - (which the 10th anniversary of is coming up on Dec 23 by the way) and it will stay as such until I get tired of it I suppose. I just haven’t really found that balance between ease of use and control over look/feel of the site that I think I’ll ever be happy with, so for now…
Anyways, here you will find things from the mundane and trivial, to … well… I’m not sure if anything I put here will ever be anything but mundane and trivial, but it will be varied I know that much. And as I plod along here, I may end up with sub-sites that are set up for specific purposes (see mobile.upmykilt.net and food.upmykilt.net for a couple of current examples).
