If you like it, you like it. If you don’t, you don’t.

I was browsing through clips on Hulu tonight, came across some of the stuff from America’s Got Talent, and saw a couple clips for Nuttin’ But Stringz. NBS is a couple brothers from NY that have been playing since before they were 10. They went to Juliard, played on the subways where they were discovered, and have even played at the White House.

But my first impression was….  ::blink. blink. blink.:: Hip-hop violinists?

Deep down though, I do like classical music… even if I don’t know my Bach from my Beethovan. And since I’ve also always like the whole harmonizing thing… Nuttin’ But Stringz sort of struck a chord (forgive the pun). I checked another video on Hulu and I was liking what I was listening too. So it’s off to Google, and of course they have a MySpace page. You can listen to, and even buy for download some of their songs here. And from there they have a link to their official page at nuttinbutstringz.com of course. So I checked out a couple more of their songs here, and after listening to a couple I decided I wanted to get their album “Struggle From the Subway to the Charts”. $12 to download, $15 if you want the CD (they still make those?).

As it was downloading I watched some videos on their site (ok, with my cable, the album was down before the first video was even half-way over), and during an interview of them where they talk about their music they gave the quote I used for the title here.

Anyways, I’m listening to the album as I write this, and I can truly say this is one of those things you just sorta trip over while wandering the net that makes that random clicking worth it. Check ‘em out, there are plenty of places to listen to their stuff for free, but maybe like I did you’ll decide they’re worth investing a few bucks in.

There was a video last year sometime being circulated via Stumble Upon and countless other video collection websites. It was of a DJ and a young man playing a violin.

….I loved it.

I love Classical music, and I adore a few pop and dance songs.

So this? This is a great find for me, and something I will probably add to my music list a.s.a.p. Thank you!

I came across this pair quite by accident one night when I was channel flipping. There they were, playing this wonderful music on “America’s Got Talent”! I wish they would have won the whole kit and kiboodle but I am sure they will have a future anyways! They are very talented and their music is very moving!

Think I will download the music too!

Some of the stuff gets a little to hip-hop for me.. but overall it’s been a good find. It’s made for some good background music while working this morning.
