Medical records in my pocket

Ok, with my Centro, I am now doing more and more than I had with any of my other Palm devices, and I just came across another great piece of software to add to the list.

ProfileMD is basically a database that lets you store all sorts of medical info on not just yourself, but other members of your family. You create a profile for each person and then you can add just about any sort of medical related info you would need. A quick run down of the main menu options: Personal info, insurance info, family history, appointments, problem log, weight, blood glucose, peak flow, allergies, medications, illnesses, sugeries, tests & labs, shots and vital signs.

For each of these items you enter info, for things like appointments or enter info such as type, location, date, who it’s with, follow up info and such. Under medications you enter the name, dosage info, who prescribed it, what pharmacy you get it at, start and stop dates and there is room for additional notes. Then there’s checkboxes for if it’s a current item you’re taking, is it Over the Counter, or a generic.

All items can be checked as private, and hidden unless you provide the password you set up. You can back up the data to an external card, oh, and things like medications and appointments have dollar values you can assign for tracking your medical expenses.

I found this just in time to start noting my flu shot for the year and record info on an eye infection I have. (wheee). Check it out yourself at profilemd.com - it’s free, you just need to register on their site to get rid of the nag screen.
